Stolas Harbormaster Spinnaker Review

Posted the 28th day of April in 2011 by Riley.

This collaborative review is on the Harbormaster Spinnaker watch from newcomer Stolas Watches. Before we go any further, a bit of history. Stolas Watches is the brainchild of Curtis Stolas, a long time watch collector. He founded Stolas in 2009 to produce watches that could withstand severe punishment.

The result of this endeavor is the Harbormaster range of watches. There are three watches in the Harbormaster collection: Genoa, Spinnaker and Gennaker. All the watches in the range share some common features like the 44mm diameter stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, luminous bezel, lightning shaped seconds hand, water resistant rating of 20 ATM and screw-down crown.

The difference between the models lies in the movement fitted, dial material, display back and colors of the bands.

Anyway, lets take a closer look at the Harbormaster Spinnaker. This watch is the model in the ‘middle’. It's a big watch that has a real presence. The 316L stainless steel case measures in at 44 mm in diameter and 14.2 mm thick. The case is extremely well finished. It has a highly polished finish. Although the watch is large, it wears well and is very comfortable.

Yema YMHF0201 Sous Marine Diver Review

Posted the 25th day of April in 2011 by TheHobbit.

The YMHF0201 is a chronograph diver made by Yema Watch company. But before we get into the review, here's a bit of Yema history.

Henry Louis Belmont created Yema in Besancon, in 1948. Belmont envisioned superior timepieces with a worldwide presence. Belmont’s philosophy for horology remains the centerpiece of their line: to dream; to create; to enjoy and his vision for the superior watch experience has resulted in audacious French designs, with world-class reliability. It was also popular among the French military.

The Yema YMHF0201 Diver is a large watch. The stainless steel case comes in at 43 mm in diameter. It is a thick watch as well, measuring in at 16.2 mm. This however does not mean the watch in uncomfortable. In fact, it is pretty comfortable and well-balanced on the wrist.
