Oris Artix Date

Posted the 27th day of January in 2011 by TheHobbit.

This is a very simple and classic watch from Oris. It is the Oris Artix Date watch, reference 01-733-7642-4051-07-5-21-81FC. The watch features the following functions; hours, minutes, seconds and date complication at the 6 o'clock position.

It is a very nice watch with a silver dial featuring the baton type hour markers. The Arabic hour markers are on the rehaut. The hands are luminous, and the sweep second hand features an 'O' on the balance side for Oris. The watch features a four-piece case which is water resistant to 10 ATM. It measures 42 mm in diameter. And it is fitted with a dual dome sapphire crystal on the front, and the display back is fitted with a mineral crystal.

This watch is powered by the Oris caliber 733. What is interesting is the movement fitted to the watch. This movement is based on the Selita SW200 movement. This 11.5 ligne movement beats at 28,800 A/h and has the quick-set date and hacking functionality.

HD3 Slyde Watch

Posted the 25th day of January in 2011 by TheHobbit.

Looks like the people at Jorg Hysek have something exciting up their sleeve. They will be launching the HD3 Slyde watch at the coming Basel 2011 conference. From the video at their site, www.hd3complication.com, this watch looks to be very interesting.

The watch will feature a touchscreen where the owner can generate a number of different screens with just a couple of taps or a flick across the screen. From the video, you can see the various functions like moon phase and chronograph. Evidently Jorg Hysek will be designing more screen interfaces for the watch that will be sold separately. So you can pick and choose exactly features and look that you desire. The watch is expected to go on sale sometime late 2011.
