Panerai will release more limited edition boutique watches in the coming months. This time, Panerai pays tribute to Los Angeles and New York City. The Los Angeles watch will feature the palm tree-lined Beverly Hills boulevard while the New York City watches will feature the iconic Statue of Liberty on the case back.

The Los Angeles collection will consist of two watches, the PAM00406, Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT 44 mm and PAM00416, Luminor Marina 44 mm. The PAM00406 will be limited to 20 pieces while the PAM00416 will be limited to 150 pieces.
Casio has unveiled their new Bluetooth wireless functionality for connecting watches to cell phones. It uses Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) technology, so the battery life is excellent (2 years with 12 hours of Bluetooth use per day). The prototype will be on display starting today at CES. These watches allow two-way communication with your smartphone, so you can receive notifications for calls and messages, as well as setting alarms and other features. The new model should go on sale in 2011, and will likely find its way into other lines of watch, like G-Shocks, in the coming years.

Stussy in collaboration with Bape and Luminox will be releasing the Stussy x A Bathing Ape Camo Luminox watch. The watch is expected to hit Stussy stores on the 15th of January in Japan. It is unsure if the release will be worldwide. At the moment it is also unsure if the watch will be available at BAPE stores.
The watch is part of the 'Survival of the Fittest' collection from Stussy.The watch in gray camo is based on the Luminox 3050 EVO Navy SEAL series of watches. The watch will measure 44 mm in diameter and is water resistant to 20 ATM. The watch case will be made of reinforce polymer case and will feature a screw-down case back. It will be fitted with a extra-hard mineral crystal and is fitted with a polyurethane strap.
The watch is expected to retail for about $485 USD. The dial will feature the BAPE type decorations in camo gray. The watch will be triple-signed on the case back. It will feature the following functions: hours, minutes, seconds and date complication.

Ice Watch has collaborated with Disney to release a new Tron wristwatch. This watch, the ice watch x Disney collaboration, is launched in conjunction with the release of the new movie Tron Legacy. The watch comes in 3 colors, blue, orange and yellow. The design is inspired the the lights on the wheel/tire of the Tron bike. The blue and yellow models were launched first, followed by the orange.

This is a review of the reference CS.SR.S.P.10 from Ice Watches. This watch is from their Classic Solid collection. The breakdown of the model number, CS - Classic Solid, SR - Silver, S – Small, P – Polycarbonate and 10 - year (of manufacture) 10 - 2010.

CASE
The watch is well made and finished. The design is based on the popular Rolex Submariner. The case is made of gray polycarbonate and has a nice profile. It has a ‘polished’ finish. The mold use must be high quality, as the case finish is very nice looking. The case side is also polished, as is the bezel. The sides are well chamfered and are very uniform across the chamfer as can be seen in the photograph below. There are no rough edges.
Here's a good video that demonstrates how the technology in a quartz movement works. The inner workings are taken for granted in cheaper watches. But there is a wide range of quality and precision in various watches. Take a look and see if this simple explanation works for you. It's a good learning experience for anyone that's not familiar with these details.

Sinn and Isetan Japan (a Japanese Departmental store) has collaborated to launch the Sinn x Isetan Co. Ltd Limited Edition watch. This watch is limited to only 50 pieces. The watch is based on the Sinn 556 model. The design based in the military pilot watch from the 1950s with vintage looking hands and military look dial. The watch offers the following functionalities; hours, minutes, seconds and date complication.
This model is cased in a 38.5 mm diameter stainless steel case with a slim 10 mm case. The lug width is 20 mm and the watch is offered with either a black or brown leather strap. An stainless bracelet is available as an option. The watch has a screw down see through case back where you can view the ETA 2824-2 movement. The crown is also of the screw down design. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 20 ATM. The watch retails for about $1,900 USD and is available from Isetan Shinjuku (watch section).
