Pulsar G10 British Military Watch Review

Posted the 16th day of November in 2010 by TheHobbit.

Pulsar won the military contract to provide watches to the British Ministry of Defence in 2001. The watch that Pulsar provided is the Pulsar G10 watch. However, this was a short-lived contract as there was several problems with the watch.

The watch has the following basic functions: Hours, minutes, seconds and date. The case is made of stainless steel with a matte bead-blasted finish. The finish is fair and the case is well made.

The case measures 36.5 mm in diameter and 7.5 mm thick. The lug-to-lug measurement is 41.5 mm and the lug width is 20 mm. The case is larger as compared to the bezel. The bezel itself measures 34 mm in diameter. The lugs are straight but it does not affect the wear comfort of the watch. The watch has fixed bars, which is common for military issued watches.

Bathing Ape Bapex Clear Shark Watch

Posted the 14th day of November in 2010 by TheHobbit.

BAPE has released for its Autumn Winter 2010 watch range the Bapex Clear Shark watch. There are 3 colors to choose from. The watch which looks like a popular diver watch is available in two-tone camouflage green on half the dial and bezel with the other half in either gray, blue or red.

The watch is made of clear plastic, as is the band. The clasp is made of metal though. And the crown is signed with the BAPE logo. The watch measures 40 mm in diameter and has a lug width of 18 mm.

I believe it is powered by a quartz movement. I also understand that the gray version is limited to North Asia and Singapore. Expect to pay around $175 USD for the watch. The watch are available in BAPE shops worldwide.

Marvin Sebastien Loeb Special Edition Watch

Posted the 8th day of November in 2010 by TheHobbit.

The Marvin Sebastien Loeb watch has been launched and it is an interesting watch. The watch is available in both quartz and automatic movement. It will also be available in two dial colors, white and black.

The watch, a limited edition of 777 pieces, will feature a rally-inspired design with precision Swiss watch making. The rally design elements can be seen all over the watch. First, the articulating watch lugs mounted in spring suspensions. This allows for a better fit and maximum comfort as the strap adjusts to the contours of the wearer's wrist. The dial is based on the instrument panel found on rally race cars. It's nice to look at and easy to read. The chronograph buttons resemble automobile clutch and brake pedals.

The watch itself is housed in a large robust 44 mm stainless steel case. The automatic watch is powered by the popular and reliable ETA 7750 movement which can be admired via the transparent display back. The quartz version is powered by a Swiss movement. Both versions will carry Sebastien Loeb's signature and the inscription 'World Rally Champion'. The retail price of the watches are $2,520 USD for the automatic, and $970 USD for the quartz.
