This military watch is made under the authority of the Lockheed Martin Corporation to exceed the tough military standards outlined in U.S Armed Forces Military Specifications #W-46374F. The case and bracelet are coated in black PVD (physical vapor deposition) plated stainless steel. It also features the Tritium Gas Illumination System. Tiny glass tubes filled with tritium gas on the number markers and hands give a very bright lume that's guaranteed for 10 years. It's available now for about $855 USD.

It has a bold and unique style that you'll either love or hate. It's rated to 500 meters. There's no extra features. It's just a big hunk of metal and lume. It should have a price of around $7,500 USD and it will be a limited edition.

It used to be that all the fine quality movements were made in Switzerland. Over the years Seiko has pioneered the watch technology made in Japan. The new lineup is now very impressive indeed.

The article covers the history of Seiko divers starting in 1965 with a 150m version. The newest design is analyzed and shown in a piece by piece diagram. It's been an interesting evolution.
