Watch Report has posted news of the Praesto Modern Fliegeruhr Aviator watch. Praesto is a new company created by the guys at Giovino Watch Company. This model features a Miyota 8245 movement, stainless steel case and sapphire crystal. There's two version and you can pre-order them now for $365 or $395 (25% discount).
Ivan has posted his latest mod over on the Horology Crazy blog. He disassembled a Kronos military watch and created his own custom one. There's lots of great photos of the process. He swapped out the movement, so it's a good chance to take a good look at all the little bits.
Halios has announced details on three new BlueRing model watches. The black model will feature Seiko's 6R15 movement. And there's a blue model and silver model that will feature the ETA 2824-2 movement. Each will be a limited edition run of only 100 units.

Swatch has posted their entire Fall/Winter 2009 lineup of watches in their site. This collection includes 108 models. These fashion watches are very moderately priced and come in the usual crazy range of styles known to Swatches.
Seiko is giving away a $3,200 Ananta chronograph to whoever submits the best video about why they love their Seiko watch.
SEIKO has launched an online video contest themed I love my SEIKO, where SEIKO owners around the world are invited to tell their stories about the special relationship that they have with their SEIKO watches via a 15 45 second video submission. The contest kicks off today with the following multi-language YouTube video trailer sample, featuring a range of SEIKO timepieces from the classic Bijou jewellery model to the Sportura. SEIKO will be collecting user stories until 31 August 2009.
The best video stories will be compiled into a montage that will be aired on SEIKOs YouTube channel, and judges from SEIKO will award the best submission with an Ananta watch worth EUR2,700 (approx. USD3,200.00, *including tax) from SEIKOs newest collection of luxury timepieces, featuring a Spring Drive and high-grade mechanical movements.
Contest Details:
1)Each 15 45 second video story must adhere to the I love SEIKO theme
2)Videos should be in AVI, MOV or WMV formats. Preferable to be in 16:9 Format.
3)Videos should be submitted via email to ilove@seiko-watch.co.jp by 30 August 2009.
4)Video submissions should include the senders full name, email address, contact number (with country code) and country of residence in order to qualify for the contest.
5)Video stories filmed in any language other than English must be accompanied by a text document translation in English attached to the email submission.
6)Each email should be less than 10MB in size.
7)Contest participants are only allowed one video submission each.
8)Video submissions should feature close-up shots of the watches
9)SEIKO judges will shortlist video stories based on their creativity and the judges decision is final.
10)SEIKO will not share participant details with third parties
